Out of beautiful soft packing came this breathtaking polished and perfect Crochet Mallet, but I was 'desolated' not to find a Jaques sticker to let the world know who made this beautiful, balanced, and accurate Mallet. A joy to use. and much admired.

exactly as advertised,arrived on time too.
I bought this product in order to get myself and my 8 year old son out a bit more during the summer months.Our garden is not big enough for us to play this game in so we go over to the local field and set it up there.easy and quick to set up,easy to transport too,in fact i would take it on holiday with us when we go.It is a very good little product, just great for getting out with the kids.

Easy to order the 2 games we wanted, a small delivery charge and we received the goods earlier than expected.
We originally searched for two garden games, Petanque and Quoits online, and decided to purchase these from Jacques. The prices were reasonable and the order process was easy. I was pleasantly surprised by the modest delivery charge and the goods came faster than the 5 working days that were advised. The packing was excellent and the contents are all OK. This was a very good end-to-end purchasing experience and I will recommend Jacques to anyone with similar requirements to our own.

So pleased with my Crib board
I am so pleased with the gift of a crib board that I bought over the internet from Jaques of London for my nephew. I haven't given it to him yet so can't comment on how much he will like it but I was so impressed when I opened the package - the quality if great!!! and the delivery took no time at all. I would recommend this sight to anyone!!

Fabulous backgammon set
The 15" Oak Backgammon set was purchased as a wedding present. It's a great set and comes well packaged. The only reason I haven't given it 5 stars is the instruction book that came with the set was marked. It looks like yellowed paper marks but was dissapointing compared to the excellent condition of the rest of the set.
Delivery was super fast. I selected 7 day delivery rather than 3 day, but it was still delivered within 3 days.

Not bad set in the main
Holmwood Intermediate set - this is a reasonable value set for children and new starters to the game. Prompt despatch and carriage under £6. You get plenty for your money, and the stand is useful although the varnished finish isn't exactly as per the painted finish shown in the pictures. It's all pretty good quality, although we were disappointed by the hoops which feel flimsy and insubstantial and don't match the quality of the other items in the set. They are not sharpened which is OK when pushing into the ground but don't add anything to the overall quality feel. If I were to buy again I would choose a better quality set and pay more (especially with current offers which weren't available when I ordered), which I guess is what it's all about, although we weren't to know from the site which shows images of the Holmwood set in the painted stand and the hoops with sharpened ends...

Poor quality item but great service!
I purchased a badminton set for a birthday present, selecting the pro version in the hope that the quality would be superior. However, Birthday happiness soon turned to dismay as the net eyelets ripped on erecting the net for the very first time! We therefore had to wrap the net around both poles - not exactly ideal, and certainly not professional! The rackets too are also a little flimsy, the strings seem quite loose.
This is the second time I've used Jaques, previously having purchased a beautiful wooden chess set. On delivery a piece was damaged but Jaques replaced it immediately, their service was excellent hence I had no hesitation using them again for this purchase.
I therefore look forward to a response.

4 stars only, not because the treatment wasn't decent, it was excellent. The minus star is due to the vast expense of the clips I purchased.

Great product, poor delivery
Ordered product at the weekend so expected delivery Tuesday 21st May for a birthday 22nd May. Hadn't arrived by mid afternoon on 22nd, emailed and asked, eventually arrived ealry evening. Not the delivery anticiaped or paid for and no contact by the company or refund.

No problem prompt service
Oddly found it hard to get find croquet sets on the website. However once I found it progress throuhg the pages was problem free and the new croquet set arrived sooner than the three days promised. The set looks beautiful and everything was in good condition. Thgis is the second time I have bought from Jaques and I would have no hestitation in reccomending it to others.

My order (croquet set) was out of stock. I received an e mail saying that I could receive another similar croquet set without extra coast; and that they will sent me the bag when It will be available. The croquet set arrived 6 days later in France. Good quality; excellent customer service

perfect gift for Croquet enthusiast
Set arrived extremely well packaged, very quick delivery, was kept informed of delivery date and slot etc. Beautiful set, ordered for my Dad's 60th birthday and I'm sure he will be thrilled with it. The box is sturdy but nicely finished, the set is perfect for what we intend to use it for ( fun bumpy lawn/field games with family although I am sure the set is meant for much better lawns!!!). Highly recommended

I bought from a trusted name but it didn't meet the expectation.
The game is alright but minimum standard and no where near my expectation or value for money. The delivery was very quick and efficient.

First class: Superb equipment matched by a superb approach to customer care..
Jaques provided an excellent croquet set that will last years. The quality of the equipment is superb , of extremely high quality from the cast iron hoops and hoop drill, through to the wooden box for the game equipment and notably the workmanship of the extremely well made croquet mallets. The balls are of high quality and are provided in a canvas carrying bag, for ease of transport and for protection when storing. This excellent equipment is backed up by a very effective and efficient customer care service, that quickly resolved issues, with missing items from the original order (bags for the balls and hoops) and slight damage on two hoops and a mallet , which were replaced the following day without any problem. There was even the bonus of sending four mallet covers as an apology that the set was not perfect when first sent out.

Prompt delivery of excellent quality purchase
I bought a set of Lewis chess pieces and was delighted with the detailed reproduction of the originals,( some of which we saw in the British Museum the day before). Visually exciting and easy to use, each piece packed in tissue paper and carefully boxed. Well done Jaques!

Best choice I ever made
This is the first review I have ever been inclined to give for a service from any company I have dealt with in the past, but I have just enjoyed the best sales and service from Jaques of London, who went out of their way to provide me with replacement chess pieces for a very old set that had been damaged, and did so without charge (how refreshing is that) I also purchased a new chess set the quality of which is excellent. Excellent customer service
I recently ordered a chess board, chess set and draught set for my husband. We have previously purchased outdoor games from Jaques and were pleased with the quality. On examination of the recent purchases the chess board had not quite been finished properly on one edge - I rang customer service and they immediately arranged to send a replacement, they asked me to examine this and when we were happy to ring them and they would arrange collection of the original board. Yes, it would have been perfect if the initial board was OK but in life sometimes things go wrong and it is how people deal with things that get remembered. I would certainly buy more products from Jaques - quality and customer service is excellent!!

Excellent service and a brillant responce with superb quality goods
I know you and I both like the Jaques games and think they have excellent quality but a little bit expensive hence we've not really bought that much from them.
Just after Christmas I was in Fryers in Knutsford and I was looking round their sale goods and I noticed a chess set reduced to approx £50 from £100. As my nine year old grand-daughter has asked me to teach her chess. Well, because of the grand-daughter I bought it.
When I unwrapped it I was really surprised at the quality of the box, board and chess pieces. I decided to complete the set by buying a draught set as the grand-son is a bit younger. I saw the Jaques one at £20 but with the P&P added it seemed expensive but I decided to order and then discovered that I could get P&P FOC if I was not in a rush which pleased me.
I was very surprised that the set arrived two days later.
I'm happy and I hope Jaques are.

"Check Mate As Far As I'm Concerned"

I purchased a chess set from Jaques of London - this was my first purchase from them and I was very impressed with the delivery time. I had tried various web sites on e-bay etc but happened to hear about Jaques on TV. I found their website, which I thought was very straight forward, and saw what I was looking for straight away and at a reasonable price. There was one minor defect in the product but Jaques did notify me about this in the delivery note which I accepted - I have rated Jaques with 5 stars even with the very minor defect - but this has not stopped me in my enjoyment of using the item.
I am going to put Jaques of London on my "Purchase from Again" folder and hope to purchase a more expensive set next time.
